Did you beat the desire for a cannabis sweetie to improve the day? We bring here two incredible and simple recipes to make at home and enjoy the breeze.
There are days when we just want a candy to improve the mood – and if it’s made with cannabis, it gets even better! Edibles are perfect because they combine two things that we love: delicious foods and the best of the herb’s effects. And, speaking of effects, they can last longer than you consume it that way, as we already told here on the blog. If you know how to dose correctly, you have only the good side!
In addition, ingesting cannabis is a way of reducing harm. When we smoke, our lungs can be harmed by all the chemicals generated by combustion. Meanwhile, with groceries, we have a 100% clean breeze.
So, everything ready to make it? Let’s get to learning how to do it all!
To begin
Before starting your recipe, your cannabis must go through a process called decarboxylation. It’s not complicated: what it means is that you will need to use a little heat to “activate” the psychoactive properties of your herb. Only then will you be able to bake the perfect brownie – and with the full potential of your herb.
The complete decarboxylation tutorial is here, but to summarize, you will:
-
Preheat the oven to 240°F (approximately 115°C).
-
Knead the parchment paper to decrease the cannabis contact surface at high temperatures.
-
Line the baking pan with parchment paper and distribute your cannabis evenly on top of it. Space cannabis to ensure that heat is evenly distributed.
-
Control the temperature with a kitchen thermometer. A difference of a few degrees can burn the herb and harm it.
-
Leave in the oven for about 40 minutes. Check your herb in 20 minutes and stir gently. Check again at 30 minutes and remove the herb as soon as it starts to develop a light and toasted color.
Now, with that done, we can go to the recipes!

The traditional ones
The most traditional fudgy brownies take flour, sugar and butter. If you like this recipe, before you start, you should prepare your cannabutter – that is, that cannabis butter that is the basis of everything! You can see the recipe for it in the decarboxylation post!
Ingredients
-
600g unsalted butter, softened – you can use your cannabutter with the dosage you want and complete the amount with non medicated butter
-
2 1/2 cups dark chocolate
-
4 large eggs
-
1 tablespoon of instant coffee
-
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
-
1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
-
2/3 cup of all-purpose flour
-
1 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
-
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
-
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Step by step
-
Step 1: preheat the oven to 350 ° F (175 ° C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Step 2: in a pan, melt the butter and two cups of dark chocolate (saving half for later). Allow to cool for 15 minutes.
-
Step 3: in a large bowl, place the four eggs and add the sugar, coffee, cannabis butter measure, vegetable oil, sugar and vanilla extract. Mix very well!
-
Step 4: add the melted chocolate and butter to the mixture.
-
Step 5: in another bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Pour this mixture into the bowl with moist ingredients!
-
Step 6: pour the dough into the prepared pan and spread the rest of the chocolate on top.
-
Step 7: bake for about 30 minutes. When you take it out of the oven and tilt the pan, the brownie may appear to move slightly. A toothpick inserted in the center will come out wet. A toothpick inserted on the sides will come out with some moist crumbs, but not a totally raw dough. The brownies will continue to bake while they set on the baking sheet and will set as they cool.
-
Step 8: let it cool completely and cut into squares. Cover and store at room temperature for 3 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
The healthy ones
In the most, let’s say, fitness version of the recipe, we exchange some elements, like butter. In this recipe, coconut oil with cannabis is used – basically the same base that is used to make cannabis lubricant.
Ingredients
-
1 1/3 cups almond flour
-
3/4 cup cocoa powder
-
1/4 teaspoon salT
-
3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons of refined, melted coconut oil (you can use unrefined if you don’t mind the taste of the coconut)
-
1 1/2 cup coconut sugar
-
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
-
3 large eggs
-
3/4 cup dark chocolate
-
1 cup chocolate chips

Step by step
-
Step 1: preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Step 2: in a medium bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder and salt.
-
Step 3: in a large bowl, mix the coconut oil, the measure of cannabis coconut oil, the sugar and the vanilla extract. Once combined, add the eggs one at a time and stir just until incorporated.
-
Step 4: add the dry mixture to the wet one and stir only until there are almost no remnants of flour. Don’t mix too much! Then add the pieces of chocolate.
-
Step 5: pour the dough into the prepared pan and spread the chocolate drops on top.
-
Step 6: bake for 23 minutes.
-
Step 7: let it cool completely and cut into squares. Cover and store at room temperature for 3 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.

And remember:
Cannabis hits differently when ingested, as shown in the table below.
Another important tip is to make a recipe with cannabis and another without, so you can be prepared when the munch hits.
